Love is a quite powerful emotion, often uncontrollable and sometimes irrational. While many people fall in love with real individuals, others form deep feelings for imaginary characters. One such case is the story of mine. I created a character so perfect that he became more than just a something imaginary of my imagination. His name was Mantis, a man with a rock hard heart, deep intellect, and an invulnerable spirit. He had green eyes and long hair. Over time, Mantis became a permanent presence in my life. I thought about him before going to sleep. I couldn’t think of anyone but him. I found the love I couldn’t find in the real world in a man I created in my imagination. I experienced the depth of a love I had never tasted. I dreamt about him countless times. We were happy together, we were looking into each other’s eyes and smiling. It truly felt real, I couldn’t be happier… But when I woke up I had only one question in my mind: would we be that happy if we were really side by side? ...
